Gillian Armstrong is an award-winning Australian feature film and documentary director, whose films often feature female perspectives and protagonists. Gillian became the first woman film director in Australia since the 1930s, when she directed My Brilliant Career (1979), a movie unique for its predominantly female production team including producer, director, writer, production and art director. She later became the first Australian woman to direct a Hollywood movie (Mrs Soffel, 1985).Additional Information:
