Special Achievements:1959 - First woman appointed to the Chair in any Australian university (Chair of Geology).
1956 - First woman elected as Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science.
1956 - Woman President of Geology section ANZAAS.
1965 - First Australian woman to become a Fellow of the Royal Society.
1971-72 - First female president of a professional (academic) board in Australia.
Emeritus Professor, CBE, PhD (Cambridge), DSc, Hon.LLD, FRS, FAA.
1924 - Highest Pass in 1924 Senior Public Exam.
