1988 - Named Australian Bicentennial Young Woman of the Year
Aid Worker - dubbed 'Australia's Mother Teresa'. Worked for agencies and communities in Bosnia, Western Australian, Kalahari Desert, South African Squatter camps and The Bronx (USA) as well as with AIDS babies in Romania.
2001 - Awarded the Order of Australia in recognition of her humanitarian service to both the Australian and international communities.
2003, 2004 - Nominated for the Australian of the Year awards.
2012 - Received the Victorian of the Year award.
