LAHY, Mary Patricia

Special Achievements:

1979 - Became Sydney University's first woman Dean of Arts.

1992 - She was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia, services to higher education.

Additional Information:

1963 - Graduated with honours, University of Sydney, psychology.

1963 - Became senior tutor in the psychology department, University of Sydney.
1965 - Promoted to lecturer, University of Sydney.
1977 – Promoted to senior lecturer, University of Sydney.
1978 - She became sub-dean, University of Sydney.
1979 - Became pro-dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Sydney.
1979 - She was elected dean, University of Sydney, and served three full terms, 1980-1985.
1991 - Pat completed her five-year term as pro-vice-chancellor, University of Sydney and she retired from full-time employment.
1992 – University of Sydney awarded her an honorary Doctor of Letters.
