Doris Evelyn WILLIAMS

Special Achievements:1925 - First female optometrist admitted to Queensland Institute of Optometrists, practicing until 1981.
"She was one of the first two women to climb the eastern face of Mount Tibrogargen in the" Glass House Mountains National Park, north-northwest of Brisbane, Queensland.
A Fellow of the British Optical Association and Spectacle Makers' Company of England.
In addition to optometry, she was "an accomplished potter, china painter and wood carver."
Founding member of the Business and Professional Women's Association, Brisbane, "serving as president 1957-1959."
